How to give up a food addiction

Hi ladies.
My question is has anyone gained a food addiction after giving up smoking?
I'm really struggling with my weight and I'm noticing I'm getting really sore in places and I'm certain it's from being over weight.
I have gained 30kgs since being pregnant and having my 4th child, she's 16 months now. I'm probably about 70kgs overweight. ??
I really can't stop myself from eating, and it's not always sweet stuff, it's just food in general. My biggest problem is I find myself eating food and don't realise, also mostly I'm not hungry.
I believe if I could stop the unnecessary eating/snacking I could start to lose weight. I enjoy exercise and I do know how to do portion control and eat healthy but really hard to stick to it as I'm always blowing it out with my picking.

What were the things that helped with your food addiction? Has anyone tried hypnosis to cure it? Any help would be appreciated. I'm a stay at home mum with 4 kids so I mostly never get a chance to sit down, but when I do I want to just eat. ??

Please before you judge me about being overweight, think what your going to write, it's not always as easy to lose weight as you think!!

I gave away smoking it's been 20 weeks since my last smoke and have realized I was snacking as a substitute. I gained 15kgs but wAs already 10kg over weight. Now things like cucumber, carrots lettuce all the boring stuff I stock up on. I've dropped my sugar in coffee because I was drinking a lot of it instead of two sugars I now have one and I'm finding I couldn't go back to two sugars. It's about small changes that are manageable. I'm not restricting any food just being mindful of what I'm eating. Adding five bean mix to my salads at lunch and sneaking it into spaghetti and other saucy meals is making me feel fuller for longer. Another go to is when I'm standing at the cupboard looking for food to snack on, I've written a note on the inside of the door, " drink water". It's a reminder that quite often we are thirsty not hungry. You will be surprised how drinking water makes your tummy feel fuller. I've also given away fizzy drinks for the most part. This journey has a lot to do with will power you CAN achieve the goals you set for yourself. I've lost 10 kgs since making these small changes, plus committing to get my heart rate up three times a day. Doing twenty step ups on the bricked garden wall( 4 bricks up) is enough to get my heart rate up, I do it on the way to the cloths line. Good luck mumma you can do it!! Xo

I totally understand how you feel.. 1 am 10 kilos over weight and feel like a pregnant whale so I understand..it is not as easy too just lose weight like most people say and its very hard trying to eat right juggling 4 kids and lets be honest as nice as fresh fruit and veg sounds its boring and who wants to chow down on it all day everyday...
I sujest try lit sugary foods and start off wit small excersizes and more little meals ..cutting out cigs is very hard well done and slows down your metabolisim also but at least your resducing risk of other health issues!! Good luck
