Hey mummies,
I'm needing some advise on how to keep my 3 year old in his bed at night, he comes into us during the middle if the night and has been doing it for a while. We think it's time to stop it, and have our bed back to ourselfs.
It's hard to argue with him when it's 2am in the morning, and also trying to be considerate of our neighbours (we live in a unit complex)
We've also just upgraded his cot bed, to a single bed. We thought it would help because it's comfy and more room.
Thanks in advance :)
How to get my 3 year old to stay in his bed?

There is no magic way of doing it that makes it easier. You just have to return him to his bed. Maybe start over a weekend and drop a note in your neighbours letterbox to warn them. If your even slightly inconsistent (and give in) it will take longer and be more confusing. The firmer you are the less time before he gets the idea,
Unfortunately they all do this and is just a transition stage he will outgrow it and eventually sleep through and as you said its hard to be hard on him at 2 am in the morning to go back to his room and is it really worth the commotion for everyone at that time in the morning, maybe try taking him and lying down in his bed with him until he goes back to sleep? He will get there kids are only little for a short time might feel eternity at the moment but maybe try and enjoy these night time cuddles there will be a time when your kids won't want you as much!!
My son turned 3 in April. He does this. It used to be occasionally, now it's almost every night. He either sneaks in and cuddles up on my side. Often I don't even realise he's in bed until my arm goes numb (no matter how deep of a sleep I'm in I instinctively cradle him in my arm). Big if I or daddy do notice and say nope, back in your bed he says "I just want to cuddle mummy. I miss you". I'm a stay at home mum...
So I got the old cot mattress and put it on the floor on my side. I had a chat to him and said "your just too big to sleep in mummy and daddy's bed. You steal all the bed and you kick me. So if you want to sleep in here you can but you must sleep on your mattress"... Slowly but surely were getting there.
