how to get a baby to sleep

how to get a baby to sleep

how can you get a baby (4 month) to sleep in their own cot? I'm currently co-sleeping as he wont go to sleep anywhere else..
I think he just enjoys the closeness and the warmth..

Push the cot up against a bed. That way you can have your arm with the baby.

Can you put him to sleep in your arms and wait until he's definitely asleep then lay him in cot?

I climbed into my sons cot and climbed out when he fell asleep. After he got use to that I moved being on the floor next to him. I still lay down with him for a bit he has two beds in his room but not until he falls asleep (he is almost 3) I tell him that I am hanging out washing and will come back to check on him later.
