How to get 5mnth old to take dummy?

I have 5mnth old twins& a 2yr old & am struggling as one of the twins wont take a dummy. I know some people will think thats great, but he wakes his other siblings constantly & i just cant settle him. Any suggestions on how to get him to take a dummy??

Have you tried putting some pureed fruit (something sweet) on his dummy and giving ig to him

My advice would be to keep persisting. My 5.5month old only just started to properly take the dummy last week. Before that she would only take it when she was going to sleep. I did try dipping it in gripe water and that seemed to help sometimes and since she has found her hands she grabs for it and puts it in her own mouth. I also switched to a bigger teat last week so maybe that's it!

I am sure you have tried lots of types of dummies, i found my daughter loved the dummy that was basically the same the teats on her bottle. good luck hun

I'm no help as I have 7 month old twins and a 2.5yr old and they all spat the dummy literally!! My toddler refused hers from about 5months and the twins hated theirs from about 3. They all have a little cuddle blankie which one of the twins chews on to go to sleep but the other, well it's a struggle. I know people say that's great but it doesn't help when they won't settle as mine are bottle fed too, good luck x

Keep trying! My 6 month old is only just starting to get interesting in hers. I wonder if its because her teeth are coming through and she uses her own hands to move it around (against gums) have you tried 'cradling' baby, like you would for a feed and holding the dummy in bubs mouth? Good luck, I know how frustrating it is, just keep trying!
