I have a 16 month old, I work part time and study part time. Can anyone give me any tips on how to keep my 16 month old occupied while I study? The only thing that keeps him occupied is turning the television on and I do not want to be using that as my fall back every single time. I offer toys and that lasts maybe 10 minutes, everything else I think of like play dough needs close supervision, something I cannot do while studying.
Thank you

Toddlers are notorious for staying occupied and needing supervision, they have the attention span of a few minutes and are easily distracted. It might be worth trying a play pen with a bunch of toys etc. but really I think your best bet is using daycare because you will find your so much more efficient at study and he will be highly entertained and you won't be resorting to TV as a baby sitter.
The best thing to do is organise time when hes not there. Trying with him there will lead to enormous frustration, this way you can b fully present when you are with him & it worked out much better for us both that way. Even one day a week, a few mornings a week, or wait until hes in bed at night & sit down & do a couple of hours.
