How to choose formula?

Hi Sisterhood,
My 4 1/2 month old is a generally happy healthy breastfed baby. Over the last few weeks I have noticed a slow decline in my milk production which is starting to lead to her frustration at the breast.
Since her birth I have tried multiple pump machines to build up a store and have never got more than a few drops, which has been fine I have fed her directly. (Just saying pumping is not an option).
I tried the food, biscuits, putting her on the breast more, drinking more water to promote more milk, all to no avail. I don't need advice on this thankyou, I've been in contact with health care professionals.

I've decided with the help of a doctor and nurse to mix feed, breast first and formula top up should she need it. I couldn't get much direction on how to choose a formula though.

My question specifically, for those with babies this age on formula, what are you using and how did you make your decision?

Many thanks.

I used s26 I just went out and bought it and she was fine, so I stuck with it. General advice is stick with one brand, changing can upset their tummies, so try a cheap, easily accessible brand first . Some Dr's or hospitals have sachets to try, so I've heard, but unless your baby is sensitive Imo trial and error would be the easy way. I did mix feeding the same way and went on to only formula.

Some chemists have sample packs that you can try to see which brand she likes but honestly it's trial and error my first two kids went on S26 when my milk dried up. But my 3rd can't take it as it really blocks him up and the only formula he can have is an anti constipation one that has less iron. Just see what suits her best sometimes the samples are better cost effect way to try different sorts rather than buy the whole tin

I found Bellamys organic formula to be the best and I have tried so many! I just found that Bellamys was in all the easy shops like big w, Coles and woollies. It helped my son's constipation issues straight away and everyone else I talked to about formulas recommends it as well.
