Hormones taking over

Hormones taking over

I'm 18 weeks pregnant and I'm not having a great time. Everyone says the second trimester is meant to be the best part of pregnancy but it's just been an emotional ride with insanely painful sciatica followed by mental breakdowns on the regular. I'm snapping at my partner over nothing and I don't want to be like that but hormones take over and I'm nuts. Has anyone else experienced this? I feel like I'm going crazy!

I totally understand how you are feeling. The worst part is knowing what you are saying and doing is Ott but u cant stop/help yourself. Then add pain into the mix and its all compounded. My hubby and I have come up with a code word for when I start to get that nutty crazyass bitchiness feeling. And he asks whether there is something he can do or do I want to be left alone for a bit. Sometimes you just need a hug and for them to say its ok. But it is totally normal. Even in second and 3rd trimester.

I think it's normal. Hormones are at a high. I'm 22 weeks along and this sounds familiar. It makes you feel a little bit crazy but your body is growing a little person and it can be physically and emotionally draining. I've found taking time to relax in a hot bath with some soothing oils helps to take some time out. Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy.
