High five to keeping the family alive one day at a time!!

Not a question, just a vent you know what i have realized. You have kids and you be a stay at home mum. Great times, kids have a wonderful time while you do all the day to day things required to run a busy house. Then the little one get to 4ish so you have an apifany. Righto ill go back to work. Its time for me to get a job and all that jaz. So off you go back to work 5 days a week then it hits. Not straight away but like a month down the track. Oh shit! Not only do i now have 38 hours a week less at home. I also have to make sure all the stay at home mum stuff fits into the 1 hour a day before i fall flat on my face with exhaustion. Its all about balance they say. It can be done easily with routine and preparation. I would love to be one of those mums who has their shit together but sadly im not. I have accepted this fact and am much happier since. All of you imperfect mums out there looking at a sink full of dishes and crap eveywhere you are not alone. High five for keeping you and your family alive each day. When someone asks me hows the kids? I am proud to say still alive! Lol enjoy your days xx

That is so true! I'm also like you, I'm glad im not alone. Thank you for this post, I don't feel as bad now. It's a bloody HARD thing to do, working 8-4, 5 days a week & running a house & kids (I have 3) well done to all the mums out there!! You're all doing an amazing job ?

I don't think there is such a thing as a mum who has there shit together. There are mums who have an awesome support team though and so it looks like they have there shit together!
A partner who sees the kids as much his responsibility as yours really is a game changer. Or grandparents who help out etc.
But a mum who can do it all without help, no such thing!

I needed to read this today!! I only work 3 days a week and have 2 kiddies, but looking at going back full time very soon and wandering how I will fit it all in! I already lowered all my expectations with housework when I am workig my 3 days but know this will have to be even more lowered when I work 5 days and will even consider a cleaner to take the pressure off if I need to!! I think working mums and stay at home mums are both awesome and both come with lots of pressure, just different types of pressure! We have to remind ourselves that we cant do everything all the time for everyone, otherwise we will literally go mad and its okay to have our time, whatever that is!!!
