Any hairdressers out there have some advice to help... My stepdaughters hair feels like straw (and often does when she's been at her mums for long periods) we use a good brand shampoo and conditioner for dry and damaged hair and when she was here for two weeks over Xmas holidays her hair was lovely then when returning from holidays with her mum her hair was like straw again she told me she was using the shampoo from the motel rooms.
How can I stop this when I have no control over what brand and types her mum uses?
Would using two different shampoos and conditioners in any given week on a regular base cause damage?
She washes her hair every second night when here (think she does that at her mums too, should we wash every night or less often?
Any other tips on getting it healthy and keeping it that way?
Thanks

I'm not a hair dresser but you could try sending her to her mum's with some leave in conditioner or some morrocan or argon oil to use after washing her hair? It may be a combination of her hair type and the type of shampoo/conditioner she was using that caused her hair to go yuck. I know with my hair the hotel supplied products are a no go unless I have some extra conditioning products OR it's short term use (as in one wash).
Less often is best my hair is dry and I HAVE to use expensive shampoo, de Lorenzo in the purple bottle is what I use you can get it on special at hairhouse warehouse for 39$ and it comes with a leave in treatment too, it lasts about 3 months I was my hair every 2nd/3rd day but I swim in the chlorine so I have to when after about 6 months of stretching out my washes with no clhorine I could go 6 days without washing and my hair was sooooo healthy, can you send her to mums with the good shampoo?
