I'm 29 years old, overweight and mum to a ten month old baby boy.
We had a bit of a traumatic time at his birth and I was rushed off to have an emergency c-section under general anaesthetic.
I've just found out that I have to have an operation, therefore have another general anaesthetic. I'm absolutely petrified that I won't wake up from the anaesthetic. Has anyone else been through something similar? How did you put this thought out of your head?
Thank you

I had to have my gallbladder removed - felt foreboding dread and even updated my will! As they were prepping me for the G.A. I was fighting the feeling I would become hysterical or something.
That aside, I think it's normal to be apprehensive about operations - don't worry too much, you will be fine. Talk your partner or close friends. They only use G.A. when there is no other option and it's necessary.
