Hi IMs
I have recently had 2 beautiful children age 3 and 1 and I plan on going back to work next year part time 20hrs a week. I have a business degree but know in my heart that this isnt the industry i want to work in anymore.
I really want to study PART TIME (online where possible) and complete a midwifery degree. I dont care how long it takes me. I will still need to work for a few days a week for the $$ whilst i am completing these studies. Its a big jump from working with numbers to working with women and babies but i truly believe this is my calling and i really really want this. Im 33 yrs old. My husband and family are extremely supportive of my plans to study and can help with kids.
Were do i start? Who can i talk to? I have no idea were to even begin... is online study better? Or is it harder? Any advice is welcome.
Thank you for your help

I find internal study easier but I wasn't studying midwifery. Most lectures were put up online anyway so I didn't go in for lectures every time but I could if I felt I needed to talk to the lecturer. I found going in for tutorials useful, kept me motivated and helped me connect with others doing the sane thing. Also another opportunity to ask questions. So if I studied 2 topics a semester that was only 4 hours a week usually of contact time. Well worth it.
The biggest issue in regards to studying nursing/midwifery is the practical components.
Google your local unis abs courses and go from there. All the info is available online.
I feel like I've just read something I've written... I am in the process of all this right now.
Charles Darwin university offers midwifery online with start of year intakes. If you go onto their website they have all the information required including clinical placements etc. Good luck, hope it works out for you :)
