After 3 years apart, my ex, stepchildren, myself and my child are all back under one roof.
Some household things are easier, now all the children are that bit older, but others aren't.these days I work full-time, 35km away, and I'm struggling with adjusting for housework routines and especially meal planning.
Previously meals weren't an issue. I worked part-time locally, so time wasn't as precious as it is now.
I've never really "meal planned" before, in 20 years of parenting.
I don't know where to start!
Can other IMs help me out?
What's the best way to go about it?
Ideas on meals that can be partially prepped a few days before so we're not left eating after 7.30pm because we all got home late!
Any suggestions on websites on "meal planning for dummies"
ThanksM

This site is really useful. You'd have to convert the measurements but basically tells you how to do it. A slow cooker would come in handy.

I meal plan but not to that extent. I have a Calander for the week, and I plan what we will eat on each night and lunches and breakfasts, and only buy what we need for that. I save a fortune that way because I don't buy stuff we won't use. What we are going to eat depends on extra curricular activities etc. I'll often make a double batch of something so we can have it a second night reheated so we can have a quick meal. Things that are more like a casserole and pastas are great for that. Plus they often taste better the 2nd night.
By the time I was 13 I could cook a simple family meal and once we reached that age we were expected to take a night each so don't forget to include the kids. Plus it's an important life skill. There are some excellent meal bases the kids could use to simplify.
