foxtel money matters

2nd time posting not sure where my original post went. Just a quick question have any families been big uses of foxtel(customer of 6 years ) and coped ok without it. Hoping to save Money and could potentially save $80-85 a month but not sure if we would miss it or be ok. We use it to record a lot of the shows we would miss, the extra cartoon channels are great especially on raining days and we love the new family movie channel but it is expensive. Suggestions, opinions alternatives. Anyone regret cutting it off or thanked themselfs for it. Worried the kids may go crazy.

We got rid of ours and brought a tivo it cost us a couple hundred upfront but once you have it it's free. You can pause record rewind and series link cause we found we only had the foxtel for the convenience of being able to record all our shows we missed.

We have a t-box. It does come with a few of the cartoon channels. you can also record shows and play them back.

You can only record free to air channels with the t-Box.... unless you know a way around that? We have a T-Box with a few of the extra packages, but i can only record and playback free to air channels.

I have 4 kids aged 1-5yrs. I use ABC2 as a babysitter (limited to an hour or two a day) or when I want some quiet time. I don't have a need for more channels. We have a DVD for movies or such when I need a longer break.

We cancelled ours 2 years ago and hadn't missed it. We just got the lowest package on the Foxtel go/foxtel play for the Ipads and are loving just having a few extra channels to watch. It is only $25/month. Hope this helps :)
