Regarding children on the spectrum, how old was your child/children when you noticed the first sign of Autism? And, what was the sign that you noticed? Do you believe your child/children were born with Autism, or developed it once born by environmental factors or vaccinations? Thanks :)

I began to really take notice by the age of 2years although in hindsight there were signs that were missed from birth. He never needed as much sleep as his peers, was advanced in developing motor skills, struggled with changes like the introduction to solids. Big alarm bells rang when he didn't develop speech, and was lining up coloured pencils in colour order. I don't believe vaccinations have anything to do with autism (plenty of science to back this up). There is a strong history of ASD in our family and it's easy to see that my son was developing differently from birth.
I knew when my son was 6 months old! We moved houses and it was instant. He couldn't stand any one near him, stopped eating, hated baths, and everything kind of went down hill from there. My elder child who has Asperger's wasn't diagnosed until 4, but only because his brother had been diagnosed. He only showed very mild symptoms, nothing we really picked up on, but the professionals did.
