I'm feeling really lost at the moment. I thought I'd found my profession, found what I was going to do full time once the kids were grown up but certain things have happened that have made me realise maybe it's not. We also moved states a while back away from family and friends for work and I feel like this isn't home anymore, but I don't feel a connection or pull to move anywhere else.
I feel like I'm now destined to become an old cat lady who calls her kids 10 times a day because she's got nothing else better to do.
Is there anyone who's ever lost direction in their life? How did you find it again?
P.S I'm already seeing a psychologist so will raise this during out next session but it isn't for another couple of weeks.

Honestly I think it's quite normal to have doubts about your profession. That's why so many people retrain. I started off as a dancer (can't do that for ever) then stuffed around trying to find what I wanted and finally discovered a new profession I was passionate about. Now family needs have thrown a spanner in the works so I need to find something to amuse myself with but won't be job orientated as my son is sick.
Lots of people retrain in different areas these days, it's even kind of expected :)
PS a friend of mine who is a doctor keeps threatening to quit and retrain as a hairdresser :)
