Falling pregnant while breast feeding.

Falling pregnant while breast feeding.

Hi Ladies,
I'm a 1st time mum to a wonderful 11 week old little lady, who thus far has been one of those dream babies.
Hubby and I have decided we'd love another bub, and are happy to try straight away.
I am exclusively breast feeding which I know can potentially hinder our hopeful plans, but as bubs started sleeping through the night (7-9 hours straight) at 7 weeks, I had my first period at 9 weeks.
Is it reasonable to make the assumption because of my period returning that I am ovulating again too?
Also are there any other ladies out there who fell pregnant within 6 months of having a baby, that were also exclusively breastfeeding?
I understand everyone is different but I'd love any general info, advice or stories you have about it.
Thanks.

Although breast feeding is considered 'protective' against falling pregnant it is not considered a reliable contraceptive method. So yes it's possible to fall pregnant. I absolutely advise you to discuss wether it's advisable to fall pregnant at this point though. The advice I've received is it can put you into a high risk category (but that info could be outdated). So make sure you get a full physical from your doctor and the all clear before going ahead with your plans.
Just a word of warning babies can be relatively easy at this point but they are not moving around yet and things with babies can change rapidly and the next baby will be a different baby so not necessarily sleep well etc.

Around the 6 months, introduction of solids is when most of my friends and family fell pregnant. I however had a "hard work baby" so both my husband and I decided hell no to a second one.

I fell pregnant unexpectedly with number 2 when my first was 5-6 months old.
I was mix feeding though and had introduced solids at 4 months.
Most of my friends who have two under two were all bf when falling pregnant so it's definetly not going to prevent it.
Goodluck with ttc.
It gets hectic with two babies who are 16 months apart but it's worth every minute of it!
