endometriosis

So after having horrid periods all my life and no one believing me and telling me
"oh it's just your period get over it. we all go through it"
I finally went to see a doctor.
He's sure its Endometriosis and wants me to come back for further tests ..
I'm scared shitless. I don't think want anymore kids but I hate knowing that the option maybe taken away from me..
Doc has given me some non steroid pain meds for now and they're kind of working..

My aunty who has had the same painful periods as me is having a historectomy next month because of cysts.
I cannot talk to anyone because they'll all think I'm "over reacting" so I've kept it quiet.

My partner doesn't seem to understand I try talking to him but all I get is "yeah it sucks"
I feel like I'm on my own on this. I have literally no one to turn to.

So I guess my question is has anyone gone through it? How did you cope? Did you have children after being diagnosed?

I think it's impossible for people to truly get it! It's hard to relate to something you don't have. I don't have endo but have some other things and I know from experience those that have it are the only ones that get it.
Endo doesn't necessarily mean no more kids. I know people who had kids who were diagnosed before they started there families.
Once your diagnosed find a Facebook page support group.

I was diagnosed 6 years ago via laparoscopy and was advised I had a 2% chance of conceiving - 3 years later I had a baby.
Its different for everybody, join the endometriosis pages on Facebook they have lots of information and Q&A. Just make sure you dont let it bring you down - there is always worse things you could have (this thought helped me anyway) All the best.

Marina worked for me can be removed if you want more kids but keeps the uterus wall from getting as thick and stops pregnancy for 5 years. It doesn't work for everyone but it does for most ? goes in vaginally and is a little uncomfortable but better than an endometrios period pain.
