Hello ladies
Today I had my 19 week ultrasound & the sonographer has discovered something to do with my baby's bowel. Its called Echogenic Fetal Bowel.
I have to go to Melbourne for further testing but I I don't understand what it is!?
I tried googling but it's not making sense.
Has anyone had this and could someone please please explain to me what the heck it is!?

My understanding of this is that it could turn out to be nothing but it is a marker (warning sign) of some issues with the baby. I would make an appointment with your GP to discuss so they can explain it better. Try not to worry though as it can be absolutely nothing at all.
its better to be safe, from what i underestand is that the bowel of your baby is showing up a brghter colour should be. Which can be a marker for abnormalities such as down syndrome, cystic fibrosis, and infection and some other things. hope its nothing serious x.
