Difficulty giving a 3 year old meds

Having issues getting medication into my son who is an epileptic he has 4 meds he has to take morning and night we are at our wits end trying to get into him we are crushing it and trying it in different foods there is no reasoning with him as he is 3. If anyone has suggestion it would be greatly appreciated anyone taught there child to swallow tablets

We crushed the malaria tablets into chocolate milk for our young kids when we were overseas- it worked after trying lots of other things. Just make up a small cup as you need to be sure they drink it all!

Can u get liquid form? Most of those drugs come liquid form. But eplium tastes really bad...
id try bribery, reward charts. 6 stars n a DVD night or lollies.
I bribed my 2 year old to have some medicine with lollies. I know its bad but its only for a few days. In your case I'd look at long term bribe. Like 50 stars n you get a toy of ur choice. But have small rewards as well. Like a lucky dip box.

Yeah liquid eplium is really bad... But some pharmaceuticals make it up themselves n if they do u can explain he wont take it n ask for sweetner in it.
I knew a girl who had 2/3 different types of liquid meds b dad worked as a pharmacist so he made them n explained that some meds are sweeter n would mix them before giving it to his daughter. (who had a disability n wouldn't easily take meds)
or u could try ice cream. I know again not ideal but he will love having ice cream. Just make sure he doesn't see u put it in.

Obviously the way to go is to hide either crushed tablets or the liquid in food.
For the morning dose how about a 'special mini milkshake' include something to sweeten and take over the flavour like Milo or ice cream. Only make it a small milkshake so that its more of a treat for him. You could also make it healthier with banana, frozen berries, oats, chia or anything else along those lines dependent on his tastes.
For night time dependent on what time you need him to have it could you stir it through his meal? Or through dessert? Or afternoon tea? Think home made chocolate self saucing pudding, or caramel or lemon for that matter, gravy, anything with a sauce (pasta, casseroles etc).
Hope this helps....

As a nurse we used to crush them and mix them up with jam one spoonful.....otherwise as terrible as it sounds we would hold the kids down, and get it in. Good luck not an easy job but try not to make a big deal out of it. My daughter takes her vitamins when I take mine in the morning so maybe make it a together thing, buy some multi's for you?
