Hi, I'm just deciding on what contraception to go on after having baby number 3 (and final) and my dr has suggested the depo shot. I have done a bit of research and not all the side effects sound appealing, worst being weight gain. Just wanting to know others experiences whilst on this, the side effects, the good the bad etc and did you gain weight whilst on it? Any other recommendations wold be appreciated, thanks in advance

As someone who has had some bizarre reactions to hormonal contraceptives I wouldn't try depo as you can't remove it if it goes wrong, you have to wait until it wears off on it's own. I'd prefer to try the Merina as at least that can be removed. Otherwise the Nuva ring was quite good for me (insert yourself for 3 weeks) you can remove it yourself at any time if you have unwanted side effects.
I would suggest no artificial hormones.. They sent me crazy, angry all the time, snappy at everyone, light headed, dizzy, numbness throughout of limbs.. My hubby got a vasectomy as he could see that was best for my health, mental health, our family and our marriage
I was on the depo twice i will never do it again I was told it destroyed any chances of me being pregnant again after three years of trying my doctor said I should try the implant for three years so I did n I got pregnant I have found it good n I have been on it for years
