My two young boys are about to attend daycare for the first time and I'm really starting to feel anxious/nervous about it. They are 9 months and 26 months. I know this is a very normal feeling but any reassurance from mums who have experienced this would be appreciated. I'm working 4 days a week. How do I shake the guilt factor that comes with leaving my kids in care? My main concern seems to be the level of attention they don't get that I could give. I have spent a fair bit of time at the centre the past weeks but not sure if that's really helped or hindered! Thanks in advance.

I have 2 kids, 3 and 1. I had to put my youngest into day care at 10 weeks. It was tough! But they learn sooooo much. Stuff that you wouldn't think to teach them at home and they love it. Be prepared for them to cry when you leave. My youngest does but when I ring to check on him I'm told he would've stopped crying before I got to my car. When I go to pick them up in the afternoon and they are out playing they don't want to leave half the time. They learn friendships, see magic shows, reptile shows (special events often come to the centre). I think day care is the best for development! At the end of the year when u see their Christmas concert and get their end of year books of collections of paintings, drawings etc they have done through the year it's such an amazing feeling of seeing your precious babies grow and learn. Good luck, think of all the good :-)
