Contraception options

Contraception options

I have been considering my contraception options. I have tried the pill before but I'm hopeless and remembering to take it everyday and i am not sure I'm comfortable having a iud, marina or rod stuck in my body and left there.

So I'm left considering the depo injection I have done all the factual reading but i would like some real life feed back on how people have gone with it and falling pregnant again later on.

I got the injection for about 2 years - better than the pill in terms of memory and I don't like the idea of implants either. I don't know about pregnancy straight after as I went from pill to pregnancy. I stopped getting the injection because once I forgot to go and after a month of being off it I noticed my mood had lifted significantly. I hadn't realised the change as it happened when I was on the pill but I did feel a lot less uptight and flat once I came off it so look out for that. I think its worth a try and see if it agrees with you.

I set an alarm on my phone so I don't forget the pill and you could always try yaz flex which has an electronic dispenser that reminds you when you should take it.
Personally I haven't had the depo injection as every friend I know who tried it took at least three years after their last injection to get pregnant. One woman actually took ten years to conceive :(

I was on the depo injection for 8 years. While on it it was all good my time of the month decreased then stopped so I liked that .But when I stopped I felt down for a few weeks , time of the month came back within a month of stopping .When I started trying to conceive it took 8 months to fall pregnant.I have also tried marina , implanon and the pill All don't agree with me .Personally i don't ever want to go back to the depo

I loved depo. No periods was bliss and I got pregnant just 1 month after my injection was due. I was on it for about 3 years between my 1st & 2nd child. Go for it! I was fairly young though. About 21-24 yrs.
