I am nearly 29 weeks pregnant.
everybody keeps telling me I'm small or I don't look pregnant. I know I shouldn't let it get to me, but it really gets me down. Even strangers i have never seen before! Makes me feel like the baby is not growing. I have an appointment next week, and I will be voicing my concerns of course, because now I am certain something is wrong!
Both my other two babes were small. 6.5pound and 5.6pound. My second was tiny as I was sick the entire way through and couldn't keep any food down.
But this pregnancy I feel fine, I eat like a machine, but still don't seem to have that 'pregnant' belly... just look fat.
Hubby tells me that I am overreacting and I will get huge right at the end like I did with my first. But I just can't see it.
Don't know what I am asking of the sisterhood, just venting, maybe asking for reassurance.
concerned and annoyed.

Everyone's body is different and everyone carries a baby differently. If the doctors and midwives aren't worried I wouldn't be stressing. Don't take the comments to heart, it may be the hormones making you more upset too. I didn't even start to show until 20 weeks and even then only people I knew could tell it wasn't until I was about 30 - 35 weeks it was obvious and my child came out perfectly healthy :)
Some people don't show! That's ok, people comment because they are jealous. Most people don't like being huge when they are pregnant. Don't over think it, take it as a throw away line with no real meaning.
I was pretty big with my first onve I started showing around 15-18weeks, then again with my second I started showing around 12 weeks and got big fast. Im now pregnant with my third. I didnt start to show AT ALL untill well after 20 weeks and fit my clothes for even longer! Im now 33 weeks and said I was due soon to someone yesterday and they just looked at me in shock and replied 'oh I didnt even know you were pregnant!'
It just depends on how the baby is sitting. This time baby is sitting right up against my spine so is hidden more.
Everyone has different pregnancies and not only that, each baby you have is different. I'm sure you already know that. There are women who are just huge from the start but their babies aren't that big when they come out. There are other women who are tiny right up until the last couple of weeks. When i was pregnant, i didn't start to show until well and truly into my second trimester and then i stayed the same until maybe 3 weeks before i was due and all of a sudden its like my belly just exploded. I was freaking out. But everyone's body is different. Im sure if there was something majorly wrong your OB would have told you or you would have realised something was wrong way earlier than 29 weeks. Don't worry too much. Im sure all is fine. And...people just like to comment just for the sake of commenting and the most common things pregnant women hear EVERY DAY from pretty much EVERY person they come across is either "wow...you're really poppping out!" OR "wow...you don't even look pregnant". Either one sucks to hear it daily. Don't stress and good luck! xx
Everyone carries differently! Follow your Mumma instincts which are telling you everything is fine and you are eating well etc. Everyone feels they need to give you their opinion when you are pregnant and its the same when bub comes (as I'm sure you've experienced with your other children) try not to let it get to you! This whole motherhood experience has taught me to be more aware of what I say to they mummy's. Hang in there and trust yourself!
Midwife here :) If you've been feeling 10+ distinct separate movements per day, have had a morphology scan at 20ish weeks that was normal, and if your fundal height measurement (if your care provider has been doing them prior to now) is around 29cm, and you are otherwise healthy, there is nothing to worry about! If you're measuring small for dates you will be referred for an ultrasound which will assess lots of things including the size and wellbeing of the baby, the amount of amniotic fluid around him/her, and the blood flow through the placenta and cord. If there are still concerns re size you might have periodical scans to check that baby's growth is going well. It's such a shame that people's insensitive comments are affecting how much you can enjoy your pregnancy :( Like lots of people have been saying in the comments, loads of people don't show until late in pregnancy. In my experience it has no bearing on the size or health of their baby. It has more to do with the woman's body shape. Hope things get easier soon xxx
