Hello sisterhood
After some advice on behalf of my sister.
She split from her hubby about 6 years ago and since then she has done everything for those kids. He saw them every 2nd weekend for a while, then moved states with no warning so was away for about 3 1/2 years.
He hasn't paid for much at all, with child support seemingly unable to get anything off him, nor able to deduct anything from his wages. This guy is a qualified builder, but chooses to work low paid jobs (I personally think he's a lazy turd...)
My sister doesn't earn a whole heap, and I am amazed and proud of how she manages her money and provides for those kids...
But now, because he has "declared" a lower income, regardless of the fact that he has the ability to earn more, or the fact that he has a partner paying for half of his fixed costs (rent etc) she has to pay him??? She has one child full time, and they share the other child 50/50... BUT she still pays for all uniforms, still takes them and pays for their sports, school books, excursions etc...
And now, child support are threatening to freeze her bank accounts if she doesn't pay up even though she literally won't be able to afford her rent...
What can she do? It seems that the good guys get screwed over...
