I found for my son (although not ODD) I got the most benefit from interventions that taught me how to cope, teach him to manage in the home environment, teach me to stop things getting out of hand and manage when they did. This type of service is offered by child psychologists in Australia. Teaching a child in an intervention environment like a centre doesn't always translate so a psychologist who teaches you how to do the intervention at home is invaluable. Good luck

Ask you gp for a refferal to a psychiatrist one for kids then you will be able to hopefully get an answer and ways of coping for you, him and the rest of the family.
