Hi
My 4.5 year old has always been a great kid, helping with chores, looking after his little brother.
In the last few weeks he is acting up so much like screaming blue murder when asked to get dressed, throwing toys, picking on his little brother. Then tonight he stuck his fingers down his brothers throat till he threw up and was resistant when I tried to pull his fingers out.
He sees a councillor due to DV from father and us being a single parent family but they never mention anything of real concern.
I'm due to have a baby in 2 weeks but other then that the only other things that have changed are we moved house and Christmas.
Any help or advise is hugely appreciated TIA xx

I think moving house could be enough to set him off. Talk to the counsellor about what you've observed.
I would be thinking that he is having difficulties coping with all the changes! Moving house is a bid deal and can affect children more than you think. Its something his not familiar with add that to the dv from his father and the poor child is completely confused. Also the fact he is about to have another baby at home sounds like his whole world is getting turned upside down and he doesn't know how to cope. He is acting out as a way of showing you he needs your help to make things a lil more easier on him. Sounds like he is an amazing big brother and very intelligent (actually a lot like my 6yr old) talk to him about all the changes and how while they might seem scary they are also a very exciting time and you are always going to be there to help and support him. Goodluck mumma :)
