Centerlink fraud

Centerlink fraud

Would you report a friend who has told you that her and her partner are scamming centerlink? He works cash in hand and gets over $1000 a week (this has been happening for more than 3 years) and they are claiming full centerlink benefits. They currently get about $3500 a fortnight between them. They have been caught for fraud twice before and had to pay back nearly $30,000. Obviously they haven't learnt their lesson. I suppose I'm bitter and my partner and I work 4 jobs between us and don't earn anything near that amount. My friend has purchased in the past few months a new reverse cycle air con, washing machine, dishwasher, drier, Dyson vacuum plus loads more as well as having thousands in savings. It's not an honest mistake, it's calculated and planned. I hate being in this position and I just don't know what to do. I'd love to be a stay at home mum earning thousands but I can't. And I hate seeing how they go out shopping every weekend and splurge.

I'd be dobbing them in, in a heartbeat.

I'd dob them in, and they wouldn't be my friends anymore. I just couldn't be friends with someone who had such low moral standards! People like them make my life extremely difficult, because I actually desperately need my centrelink benefits because I care for my severely disabled son, thanks to people like your friends I have to face more and more intrusive questions by the government which places extra stress on my already stressed little family.

Yep dob them in... I've known of one couple who do it all the time, I was even lied to and made believe they had separated and signed her centrelink form for her to rip of the system.. Needless to say we are no longer friends :)

As a single mum doing it alone and quite literally scraping by to support myself and daughter I say yes DEFINATELY report them. I work all week huge hours while my daughter has to spend her days in daycare. It's not easy but it is what is required right now. Your friends have no morals and I couldn't stand being around them. Centerlink is not a lifestyle it is to assist in making ends meet. Sorry but this makes me really angry.

Dob them in. I know someone who is pregnant and has already worked out how to fraud the system to claim single mothers the second she does I will be on the phone to centrelink. I'm sorry but this pisses me off, look at yourself 4 jobs between 2 people to make ends meet. Or the lady above who needs that assistance with a disabled child. It isn't right, and it isn't fair!!!!
