birth control or not?

birth control or not?

I have 2 boys (4 &2), we always said that we wanted 3 so haven't been usin any protection. I have pcos so rarely have periods, it took 3 yrs to get pregnant with our first, and were lucky with 2nd (only took1 yr). up until 3 mths ago we were sure we still wanted another, but now I'm working and lovingmy job we are good financially and have renovations we r doing so we don't think we do want another child. defiantly. not at least for 2 yrs if ever. my question is what I should do about birth control. should we jus leave it up to fate and what will be? or should I get on the pill (although if we decide to have any other it will probably make it more difficult to fall pregannt)?

Condoms? best birth control to use if you don't want to put chemicals into your body.

I agree, with having friends who have PCOS it is not a good idea to use the pill/or other forms of contraception where it puts chemicals in your body as that does make it harder to fall pregnant. I agree that maybe condoms would be your best option if you do not want to risk falling pregnant.

I was diagnosed with pcos when i was younger, took 4 years to get pregnant also, after that a year later i was pregnant again, and another 2 pregnancies that i was very easy to conceive on... after talking to my gyno about how fertile i have become she said that with pcos, in a lot of cases after the first child is conceived and born the problem can eradicate itself... please be very careful if your sure you dont want anymore just yet

If it were me I wouldn't go back on the pill. Especially since you already have PCOS. I am currently trying to conceive and not having much luck thanks to years on the pill and it has effected my hormones so much that my body doesn't ovulate regularly. If you want to wait I would look into methods that don't interfere with hormones and ovulation such as an IUD or good old fashioned condoms. That is just my opinion. I don't plan on taking the pill ever again. At the end of the day you need to make a choice that suits your needs and lifestyle. Good luck x
