Do any ladies have experience with 2 things
1- my 6 month old daughter is not attempting to speak or babble at all the most she does is smile and squeal, I understand all babies develop differently but I'm curious if I should be worried
2- how did you incorporate food and cut out bottles?
She is currently having food for breakfast and dinner but although is ridiculously tired after her food and bath she will scream blue murder until she gets a bottle, I'm sure she will make herself sick eventually!
Thanks!

At 6 months old I wouldn't be worrying about her speech yet. Some babies are just very quiet. She will find her voice eventually. As long as she responds ( looks at you, smiles etc) when you are speaking I would say she is just fine :) #2 at 6 months food is still for exploration and getting used to tastes and textures. Her bottles would normally still be her main food. As she eats more maybe try starting cutting her day bottles and morning/night bottles last? This is only what I've found to work. Good luck mumma x
Reposted on the Facebook site too and hope it helps! x
Of she is reacting to sounds and makes noises don't worry about her babbling yet. Keep talking to her and read to her as well. If she becomes more quiet or doesn't progress seek medical advise.
I thought milk was the main food source until 12 months. Don't worry about limiting bottles unless your baby is very over weight. May 11 month old breast feeds more now than he did at 6 months for comfort and reassurance and also because it's really hot some days.
Bottles should be the main source of food for awhile yet... My 6mth old has 3 meals and 4 150-200ml bottles everyday... As for the night bottle thats normally the last bottle to go...
I was told by my child health nurse and GP to ALWAYS give the bottle first then the solids. Babies still need more milk than solids until 12 months or more. Don't cut out her bottles till at least 1 yr old. As for the babbling, I wouldn't worry till well after 1 as babies find their voices at different stages.
6mths is very young to be worrying about speech just yet.
just came across this and would like to say now miss 4 now doesnt stop speaking and smiles less cause you know..shes 4 haha
thanks for the advice ladies!
