Can anyone help with how best to handle the screaming of an autistic four year old? It's happened several times today and keeps waking up our baby. It's happening when asking to put shorts on (child is always wanting to be naked) but also happens for any reason really. Like wanting to play with a big work lamp in dads shed cause it reminds him of the movie Walle. I tried to explain to him today that the baby is asleep so we need to try and be quieter and I said it very nicely and got down to his level and he first slammed the fridge door and then slammed the kitchen door and was quiet for about 20 seconds and started the screaming again. These are short about one second, very high pitched screams that he does repeatedly for a few minutes until he finds something else interesting. Trying to take his mind off it, giving hugs, soothing, being patient and kind and all the rest we are doing, but it isn't helping any. Please help
