Auditory Processing Disorder

Auditory Processing Disorder??

Was wondering if anyone children have been diagnosed with this disorder and what symptoms did they display and how did they go about to get seen by a doctor? Also is it a medicated thing?

As someone who works in the industry, go see a paediatrician. A lot of kids who have auditory processing disorder actually fit the diagnosis for high functioning autism. Auditory processing disorder doesn't attract funding because it's not recognised by the DSMV but autism does. So make sure you at least rule out autism. Auditory Processing Disorder is usually diagnosed by an OT. So many kids I work with are diagnosed with APD but then later diagnosed as autism (and missed out on early intervention funding). Very frustrating for the families, and very expensive.
