I weaned my son from breast feeding just before he was 2 years old. It's been a few months now but my nipples have been peeling/ flakey since stopping breast feeding. They are not painful or itchy/ no other symptoms at all. I just assumed they were like this from breast feeding for so long. Am going to the doctors at the end of the week but thought I would ask any other breast feeding mums if this has happened after stopping feeding ?
I am due to have baby number 2 soon so just want to make sure if its something I have to treat before I start breast feeding baby number 2. Thanks heaps.

Yeah check with GP but maybe use a moisturiser or a nice body wash? Use a nice shea body lotion, that may help.
Enjoy your new baby to come! Good luck mum.
Have you heard of lanolin? It's a cream for your nipples that is also safe for babys mouth & it made my nipples feel so much better whilst breastfeeding my son. You get it from the chemist in a small purple tube. I used it after every feed.
