We have recently found out our son has ADHD, not just a dairy allergy, which is what the ENT told us was the cause for his behavioural problems and lack of attention...After cutting all dairy foods and our boy still having problems I was referred to the paediatrician at our local hospital and are booked in for a children psychologist next.
I am wondering if there are any facebook groups or websites I should check out for more information on natural 'remedies' and just general information on living with adhd and techniques used to help your child focus, especially at school. We don't want to medicate him, but realise if there are no other options this may be where we end up, as this has been affecting his school performance.
Thankyou for your time.

Hi my son was diagnosed with ADHD at the begining of the year. We are certain that we never want to medicate (at this stage anyway). Have a look into a failsafe diet google fedup.com.au Its quite extreme and i dont follow it to a T but i have cut out colours and preservatives and have seen a big difference in my son, its like night and day. The other day we were out and he had been calm all morning, he had a hotdog and ice-cream and his behavior instantly changed!! Also the RCH webpage have info sheets for ADHD they have some stratergies for teachers teaching in the classroom. http://fedup.com.au/information/information/additives-to-avoid
Hi there,
I didn't comment on FB as anything to do with ADHD can sometimes end with the comments getting out of control. We have been on the ADHD path for about 3 years now with my 6 year old son. Like the previous person said we have also done the Failsafe diet and we have seen differences and continue to follow up but it hasn't solved our problems. We don't medicate which is our choice and it is a long hard road. It has been mentioned on FB but I do offer free support for families affected by ADHD (with their children) so feel free to contact me as I am more than happy to chat. info@beyondthemaze.com.au. My website is currently getting an overhaul as I am finetuning my support but I am more than happy to chat. Good luck you have a hard but also much rewarding path ahead of you if you look at the positive side of ADHD (and they can be many) xx
