Aching pelvic region in pregnancy

Aching pelvic region in pregnancy

Hello!
I am currently 17 weeks pregnant with baby #2. (DD is only 10months) For the past 3 weeks when I am standing for more than an hour I get an aching in my pubic region (vagina, butt, etc).

I am a checkout assistant so I can't avoid standing for prolonged periods.

During the birth of my daughter I had a 3rd degree perineal tear, so because of this I have weak pelvic floor muscles.

Is the aching normal or do I need to get this checked out?
I am concerned I may have a prolapse!

I ache too, and do have a prolapse. But my prolapse was bad enough that I could feel my cervix poking out and it rubbed and hurt heaps when I walked. Having said that, by 17 weeks, the uterus is getting so big that it rises up again anyway. So I spose you won't really know until after bubs is born about the prolapse.
Mention it at your next checkup, they might do an internal to see how far in your cervix is. But they won't do anything to treat it anyway til after bub, if that's what it is.
Also there is extra blood running around your system so increased blood flow to the area is normal, even for your clitoras to become engorged. Especially when your on your feet all day, not all that comfortable, so given your on your feet, it might just be increased blood to the area.
But please speak to your doctor, prolapse can become incompetent cervix, so you might be advised you need to get off your feet! I had to give up work at 10weeks due to the discomfort of the prolapse, and the pain of sitting long periods.
I also Highly recommend an Osteo, I think they are much better than physio or chiro, and i've even tried Bowen. I think my osteo will actually help repair my pelvic floor and separation of the stomach which i've had since #1DD and I'm preg with #4 now. Wish I found her years ago, and you'll need help restoring your prolapse (either that or surgery).

Go get yourself checked out. I can remember when I was pregnant, sometimes I felt like I had a lead weight sitting in my uterus and this was around 3-4 month mark. It was difficult to walk sometimes it hurt so much. Nothing ever was wrong, just my body getting used to having an occupant growing and taking up space. Good luck with the rest if your pregnancy.

I had a thing called spd during my pregnancies, it burned. It sounds like the start of spd, I would go to your dr. Try wearing a support belt around your lower belly/hips to help take the pressure off I purchased one from my physio.

When I was pregnant with my twins I was getting shooting pains through my pelvis if I sat or stood for long periods to the pint I would almost collapse. A Physio specialising in pregnancy sorted me out due to my pelvic instability, she also recommended I wear a belt! Go get checked out either a gp or Physio :)
