38 weeks pregnant

Hi first of all sorry for the long post. My son is 16 months old. I'm 38 weeks pregnant lately I've been having a lot of pains in my legs and pelvis area (the joining area thingy) alot of lower back pain and lately ive been wearing a pad and there have been a couple of brown spots on it me and my husband aren't to sure and my gp is a male and I'm scared of any male down there (apart from my husband) my gp understands why I'm scared so he refuses to go down there on me to check..

I know we have a 16 month old son but I never went through this much pain and please don't judge me on this but I can't remember anything about his pregnancy and I already feel like crap about it :'(

The pain sounds like it could be just due to the pregnancy in terms of ligaments/getting ready for birth etc. and being 38 weeks I wouldn't normally think the spotting would be concerning, but if you're in a lot of pain and are really worried it's definitely worth giving the hospital you'll be going to a call (I assume you haven't been allocated a midwife?) and asking to speak to someone in the labour/maternity ward and just telling them what you're experiencing. If they think it's concerning they might ask you to come in for a midwife to check you out :)

I'm currently 40 weeks with my second. I had some pelvis pain with my first but nothing like I have this time around. Some days it's really uncomfortable to walk and rolling over in bed is an issue also. My midwives aren't concerned as it is normal especially when bub is pushing down but I am not experiencing any spotting or other issues as a result. If you are not comfortable having your GP look down there I would suggest contacting the midwives and see what they say and if they can have a look instead. Even if it is just to reassure you that everything is ok.

I can't say I have been enjoying this pregnancy either. Unlike my first, I have been sick the entire time and really haven't been enjoying it. The realisation that he will be here soon got to me last night. I loved being pregnant the first time but I really don't have any positives to take from this time around (except for the baby that is!)

Hope everything goes well for you x
