7 year old still coming into our bed every night

Please be kind, I know this is my fault but I want to fix this.
My son is nearly 7 years old and is still sleeping in our bedroom.
He has a single bed in our room, and either me or my partner have to lay with him in that every night until he goes to sleep, then we go to our bed.
Almost every night he comes into our bed.
He is getting way too big to be in there with us and I really think it's time to put him in his own room in his own bed.
His bedroom is right next to ours. And he has a really cool bed.
How can I make this transition easier for all of us?
I understand it's going to take a lot of time and persistence, and a lot more nightly visits to our bed.
Thank you for any help you can give me.

My daughter is 11 and she still begs for 'sleep overs' where she and I stay in the spare room together. Try to transition him by lying with him in his room and then leaving. Honestly, it will probably start to become less frequent as he gets older

When i was 11, I stared sleeping in my mums bed and stayed there until I was 17 unless mum had a partner over. I hand anxiety so it helped me a great deal

Do you have another child?

The only reason I ask as having both my children sleep in the same bed is the only way to get them out of our room/bed.

They are 7 and 5 and we have been doing this for 2 years now. They both need comfort to sleep and they are able to get it from each other.

If I only had our 7 year old, I would still be letting them sleeping our bed if they need to. We are their safe place.

Adults sleep in the same bed, why are young children so easily made to sleep alone. Especially at night when it is so scary for them
