Sorry this might not make to much sense as I’m just going by what my friend is saying. Not looking for legal advice just more of an idea on what she can do, my friends grandma has dementia and has a friend, a loan broker and her old land lord trying to apply for loans in her name. Also trying to sell off her car and house with out her knowing, the old land lord is owed money and offered to fix up a very old car to get it road worthy and drive able again to sell it for $40,000 so he can get his rent money. The amount of rent owed is roughly $12,000 according to my friend Without telling the grandma the correct information, they are just telling them they are fixing it up. The loan broker person deals with the rent that is due and is trying to take out loans for her house. And the friend of the grandma is giving them all the go ahead.
What can my friend do to stop this, no other family members are aware of it. Thanks

She needs to make other family members aware of what’s happening. Does anyone have power of attorney? What are the care arrangements? Your friend or another family member should seek legal advice to find out what can be done to stop the grandma from being taken advantage of. I think some lawyers will do an initial consultation for free then if further legal assistance is needed you start paying.
