I suffer from cystic acne. It can get quite painful and disfiguring. And again, I have another infected face. It's itchy and burning like hell.
I feel it's time for me to start an oral medication that isn't birth control.
I know we are all different. But what meds have drs prescribed for you to treat your cystic acne. And what supplements have been suggested

Please see a dermatologist if you haven’t already. The scarring from cystic acne is life long. I went on Roacutane. Very powerful but worked to clear things up.
I can't take it. I have ostio and inflammatory arthritis. The side affects will only make that worse for me. I have seen many derms. So far they have been help because they aren't game enough to work around my other medical conditions and medications
I would try it. They start you on a low dose anyway, see how it goes. Plus it's usually only for 6 to 9 months, if you can handle your symptoms for that time, your acne will be cured. It's a miracle, I would consider short term pain for long term gain. my son had other medical issues where it can be affected, so far so good.
My son took doxycycline and it worked great. Got a subscription through Software, discovered he could not use Tretinoin as he gets eczema but the oral antibiotics done the trick
