To my menopause sisters

Menopause sisters, does hormone therapy completely eliminate hot face flushing? I'm currently on paxtine and clondine for the flushes as I wanted to avoid hormones. Those meds help about 50% of the time, but it's just not enough. I am 50 years old, have been in complete menopause for 4 years and have no other symptoms. I only have face flushing issues. I also don't have night sweats. Does HRT (MRT ) work?

I cannot answer this question but I can say a great place to ask if you are wanting to avoid HRT is the Happy Hormones facebook group. They have lots of questions similar to this one ;)

Happy hormones don't work for me and I've been on that group. Other than HRT there's nothing I haven't tried. Thanks tho x

MRT is great for women who can take it. It's very beneficial for so many things. I have estrogen dependent liver tumours so I have to be careful with hormones but after all my research, if I could, I would take MRT. I tried everything, natural remedies, sage tablets, antidepressants and none of it worked. I had terrible flushing, which was quite unbearable so I trialled a low dose of estrogen gel (Sandrena) as the gel is absorbed by the skin and only makes one pass through the liver rather than two which happens taking oral tablets. It hasn't completely eliminated the flushes but when I occasionally get one it is very mild. Talk to your gyno about what's right for you. The Australasian Menopause Society has lists of memopause-knowledgable doctors for each state.
