Any hobbies or things that you used to like doing? E.g. book club, sports. These are usually the best places as there's shared interests. There's also going to club, trivia or raffle nights. You eventually start to meet the regulars.
Finally, if you really want to there are dating sites. I went on Plenty of Fish. No obligation to meet, found it great to chat to people on there but there are still plenty of eww moments.
I dated for two plus years before I met my current partner. Gave me plenty of time to work out what I do and do not want and to unravel a whole lot of damage from my ex.
Are you looking for a new partner or friends? Your post is not really clear but the last sentence suggests you're looking for a partner. If yes, then why? Just be happy by yourself, get your kids used to their parents being separated. You don't need to jump from one partner to the next. 10 years is a long time, focus on you and your kids and you will be better prepared for a relationship later on.
Why the rush? You've only recently separated after over a decade. You should work on yourself first. It's ok to be single!
