How many of you have ipads, gaming consoles and laptops kept in teens bedrooms or do you have screen time or screens kept out of bedrooms?
Do you have set screen times or breaks or a bedtime screens off time or just go with the flow and use it whenever?

None in the bedrooms. If my kids want to go on their lap tops it’s in the lounge room. Too many kids hide away in their rooms like this. My kids have 2 hours max a day on lap tops.
What about homework? What year are they in? All schoolwork in HS is done on laptops these days.
My kids would fail in the higher grades in high school with that rule.
Yes sorry, I usually say homework first. Mine grade 8 & 9 so not as much homework yet. If this was the case I’d make it 2 & half hours quicker they get home work done , more time they get to do what they want. They don’t have phones either so lap top is their only device.
It doesn't work like that.
Some nights nothing, night before important assignment due, 5 hours.
I think you will need to be much less regimented and more flexible as they hit the higher grades.
I assume you aren't going to place rules on a 17 year old who can hold a drivers licence lol in year 12.
Might have to loosen the reins a bit later.
The last thing a year 12 student needs is a parent hovering around their laptop use whilst trying to get good grades.
You also don't want them rushing to get their homework done because of your rules, you want them to do a good job and not worry about the clock ticking.
For us laptop has no locks but is for school work only and yes we do check.
Phone has 9pm lock out on school nights.
iPads are kept in the living area in the evenings and only used when we allow them.
