My question might sound a bit silly, but I was wondering if there’s a difference in “love ya” and “I love you”. This is coming from a guy I’ve been f*ck buddies with for 8 months. I was wondering if he is just being cute or maybe likes me romantically.
For further context, he’s never said it before, we speak outside of hookups, he calls me babe and darl and sends xx and sometimes 😘 emojis, and in the conversation we were having where he said “love ya x” he also used a ♥️.
Is this normal talk between FWB? I’m not sure because none of my other FWB have ever been like this one.

Hmmmm, my partner of 10yrs is a "love ya" person. The only time he said "I love you" was the first time he ever said it which was a while before I could say it.
Honestly, I'd just ask him if he feels the relationship is progressing into something. We were just shagging until we realised we were together as a couple about 3months in. Infact his mother pointed it out.
You could spend a life time analysing it or you could just ask him!
I tend to think in FWB situations you need to check in regularly with each other anyway to make sure that you remain on the same page in terms of what you want.
You are going to have to ask him. He could like you, and be looking for a relationship or he could just be one of those guys who says stuff that makes you think he wants more, when he doesn’t.
You can tie yourself in knots working it out, but much faster and less painful to ask.
