My almost 18 year old has had a history of nosebleeds.
The first big gush, he was a toddler and at daycare. He scared his teacher when he went up to her during nap time asking for water. She turned around and he covered in blood.
He doesn't have a clotting issue. But nosebleeds run in both families. The GP suggested the slim possibility of leukaemia but ruled it out.
He typically gets them in summer, typically on hot days.
For the last week, he's had 5. It’s gotten to the point he no longer wakes me up during the night, I only find out in the morning when I discover the blood bath.
He has had 3 nosebleeds today. One was at the shopping centre. He was with a friend who helped him and naturally people were asking if he was ok. He stopped the bleed and went about his day, only for another to let loose. His mate kept saying he suffers from nose bleeds and helped him but strangers were asking if they could call someone. He was more worried about getting blood on his shirt.
I didn't learn about this bleed until tonight. His 3rd bleed has just stopped. I put him in the shower to cool him down. I've told him to not mess with his nose or pull clots out.
The last clot I saw was as long as my pointy finger and was slipping out of his nostrils in the shower like I gave him a neti pot or something to clear out his sinuses.
I plan on checking with out GP about some solutions. My dad has suggested maybe get his nasal passages have something wrong with it.
Anyone got any advice about chronic seasonal nose gushers?

I don’t know why your Dr hasn’t suggested getting nasal cauterization. I would be looking into it more. Ring the health like next time and ask for advice if you haven’t got back to your Drs yet.
Ask for a referral for an ENT specialist and refuse to leave that GP practice until they give you one. That is crazy that this has been going on and they are not taking it seriously. Have you even been referred to any specialists??? This is not for a GP.
Get it cauterized 😊 our 18 used to get massive nosebleeds all the time and the change has been fantastic for him!
My family member used to eat a TON of Vegemite & got nosebleeds constantly - turns out he was getting way too much vitamin B.
There’s creams you can use that help. Myself and my kids are chronic nose bleeders. If you have private health I would look at getting it cauterised as others have suggested.
And it’s just that the vessels are close to the skin inside his nose. Nothing to worry about it’s just a nuisance.
