Tie-dye birthday party

Tie-dye birthday party

My 8yos birthday is during the Christmas holidays late January, so I do her birthday party end of Feb. Iv been stuck for cheep ideas, so I want some feed back on what I have planned.

I'm going to do a tie-tye party. I have several tie-dye sets already. It means getting white tops in bulk, wich I found for $3. All size 10's with should be big enough for 8yos. Would your child find this fun. My daughter loves it when I get the tie-dye out. I can send every one home with their top in a large zip bag with was instructions so all the kids can take their top home. Thoughts?

My friend did this a couple of years ago. Used kmart shirts & tie dye kit.

It depends on the kids and how you do it. intended for kids to do it but they lost interest fast & ran off to play because it took too long & required a lot of adult assistance. (I wasn't keen on my kids squirting around dye in their half decent clothes, either.) She ended up with two volunteer adults doing the tie dyeing while she ran the party. They got the kids to choose the pattern & colours.

Kids still loved it and not one forgot to claim their shirt on the way home! Mine wore the shirts a lot. I had to sneak them out of their wardrobes once they'd outgrown them! Much better than party bags full of plastic.

Id suggest sending kids in old clothes, and I have great friends who would help with things. I was going to also have water fights so rotate so not every one is at the table all at once

That is a great idea. I got my kids this for Xmas and got the plain white carry bags, they loved it. You could get the bags and then get them to do a scavenger hunt with their bags once they are dry, instead of party bags.

I think maybe get a few adults doing them as well. It's not a bad idea but my 8 year old would probably lose interest halfway through. But my oldest would have loved it. Depends on the kid.
