Help!! My 6 year old is still sucking her thumb it’s starting to cause her being teased by her peers.
Has anyone had success in helping their child kick the habit?
I know why she does it so I’m not interested in suggestions on why she may thumb suck more so ways that you have managed to kick the habit
Thanks

The why is important, so it would probably help if you shared that.
If it's a stim (self-stimulating/soothing behaviour) then you may need to replace with something that gives her the same or a similar feeling. A chewy necklace or chewlery might be helpful.
I bit my nails when I was a kid for those reasons. Nothing worked to cure it until I got braces as an adult. Literally making it impossible for me to bite. I now chew gum if needing that feeling which is healthier.
I don’t know why, but with most habits it’s replacing the habit and meeting the need of ‘why’ with something else.
My 38 year old sister still sucks her thumb when she is tired.
She doesn’t even realise she is doing it until someone points it out.
My mum tried everything available back in the day. Horrible nail polish etc
