Advice for my 8 year old son.
I think he may be starting to have some hormonal surges that make him emotional and unable to explain why or even what he feels. He is a very sensitive little bloke and me and his Dad have been using different tactics to help get through these phases such as; music, long talks at bedtime, baths, reading.
My main question is what is the best book that he can read that's age appropriate and explains what is happening in his body? I've explained it in a gentle way that he understands, but he might get a better idea reading about it himself.
Any other pointers are welcome too!!

Emotional regulation. You can google it and a million ideas will come up. It’s teaching feelings, being able to identify how he feels, so knowing the emotion and knowing how it feels in his body and mind, and then the next step is knowing that he can change his feelings and learning how and then practicing. It all sounds much simpler than it is and regular practice and repetition is the key. You can also model it as well, in your actions but also sometimes narrate out loud your thought process.
