Stealing from a dying person

What sort of a person steels from their employer, let alone when one of them is termally ill.
My parent is dying. We have no idea how long they have, so far treatment has stopped growth. But its rare and incurable. My other parent isn't well ether, but powering through.
They noticed discrepancies on their weekly count, and looked back through the daily counts, to discover 3k missing on one person's shift... days before Melbourne cup. They looked further back, and found another k missing on their shift. Today, after sacking them and calling the police, they looked back on files several months and so far 4.5k is missing. They will be going back 12months. What sort of disgusting person does this to a dying person.
I don't know what I'll do if I ever come across them in town.... will I keep my cool.... honestly, right now while angry I don't even care about the consequences of smashing her face in....

Low life scum that is who. Let’s hope they cope the charges and be dealt with but I doubt it. Karma will get them.

Don't do anything silly, you will be charged with assault regardless of what she did which only makes your life hard when applying for jobs, houses even insurance. Stealing from an employer usually punishes pretty well in Australia, a lot of offenders end up in jail and find it very hard to get employment again so you shouldn't need to take the law into your own hands, trust that they have pretty much screwed their life up, you don't need to screw your life up too.

Opportunists. They seek out easy targets.

Believe me, I fully understand the rage fueled desire to smack her one...

But an assault charge on your record has the potential to make your life very difficult.
What this scum bag absolutely does not deserve is causing your family more and lasting grief!
She's also not worth losing your integrity over - she has to live with the unconscionable fact that she stole significant amounts of money from her terminally ill employer. You don't need to live with a physical altercation on your conscience, I'm sure your parents wouldn't want that for you either.

Hopefully she's hit with the fullest extent of the law and I hope you're parents receive some compensation.

Your parent does not need to worry about you also. Please do not do anything and let the legal system deal with it. I knew someone who we never suspected who stole a great sum of money and ended up in prison. Turned out they had a terrible gambling addiction. The addiction unfortunately comes first in these situations. Just give your parent lots of support and help them to move on so that it does not create extra stress when they are struggling with illness. I get that you are angry and worried for them 😞 but if you confront this person then it may even undermine legal proceedings.

Scum. My grandfather was blind- his “girlfriend” used to steal money from him. I don’t care how old she is now, I’d still run that bitch over if I laid eyes on her again
