I'm wanting to lose weight around 10kgs. I'm just over 70kgs, walk/power walk and sometimes even run at work when needed and get really exhausted quickly. Just turned 34 so after recommendations for a nice weight loss shake, that gives you energy as well.
I'm always exhausted after work, so walking more isn't an option.

The exhaustion is from csrbs / sugars. Eat predominantly protein and fats and your tiredness will lift. My husband is a nutritionist and Chef, and we are both ketogenic eaters . Between us we lost 100kg in 18 months with no exercise. We exercise now tho just for tonng purposes.
Those shakes just make you hungrier, they're full of sugar .
This. I went Paleo, lowered my Carbs. Would have been hitting Ketosis and I lost so much weight and felt 10 years younger. I would bounce out of bed in the morning and wonder why I was not tired. ZERO exercise. I just naturally became fitter because I had so much energy. I have tried shakes, low calorie, cabbage soup diet, gym 6 days per week etc. etc. and have been struggling with weight majority of my life. The key for me was cutting Carbs and swap foods with more natural fats.
Be careful, I actually put on weight when I started shakes, because they have way more sugar than I have in my normal diet.
I use optislim. Weight loss shakes aren't really going to give you energy unless they've got caffeine in them so you may as well just have a cup of coffee with your shake. They have limited carbs and sugar, despite what some people say. They are a meal replacement, not an added shake to a bad diet so the limited carbs and sugar is actually a good thing, they keep you feeling alive it would be like going on a celery only diet and wondering why you feel like crap. We need carbs and sugar to stay alive. Doctors put people on optislim if they need to lose weight before surgery or fatty livers so I don't believe they're bad for you, you just have to go with a reputable brand from a chemist. From the optislim brand I don't like their caramel flavour but don't mind the chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Just use really cold water or milk it makes them easier to drink.
Girl are you kidding ?? There's 43g of carbohydrates and 38g of sugar in just 100g of the stuff . Now, that would be OK in a full sized meal, but that's in a 100 gram serve!! It's far too much and remember, carbs convert to sugar in the body .
Oh and another thing we do not need carbs and sugar to stay alive, your body automatically makes glucose so why add to it ? Don't tell ppl something you have no idea about.

The shakes are designed to replace food, having 3 a day gives you the recommended daily nutrition your body needs without the calories. I've been replacing only one or two meals for a few months with no extra exercise and I've lost 7 kilos.

That information is so outdated. Your body does not need carbs to survive. It's a myth . And yes they do make you fat.
Carbs are not the preferred energy source. Fat is. The body however will use carbs first as energy because it's the first thing it goes for when there's no fats to burn .
Carbohydrates are not essential unless you are a huge gym junkie. Which most of us are not .
There is plenty of updated information about this online or seek out Dr Berry and watch his nutritional documentaries.
Your body makes glucose on its own it doesn't need it added via carbs and sugars overloading it to work harder.
Your final paragraph is outdated bull crap. I've been ketogenic for 15 yrs and have perfect blood tests. Drs are moving more toward keto lifestyle advice than ever before. It's called clean eating. Fruits and grains are full of excess sugars. You do not get constipation and vitamin deficiencies by omitting carbs and sugars from your diet.

Yep true, Vic health is outdated and proof that not everything online is true. BMI's are also still listed online as an accurate way to determine where we fit weight wise. It's now an abolished system even tho it's still showing as a current health standard online. Gyms nutritionists , most doctors, and personal trainers don't even use this measured system anymore as there are too many other variables not taken into account.
That is really funny that you think a state health website which would have been written by professionals then quadruple checked by other professionals to make sure is correct, is wrong lol. Why would they have the wrong info? The media would have a field day.
Yeah you didn't provide a single source for your psedu science. Also keto diets are designed, by scientists, for people with very specific health conditions. No one should be in ketosis for years.
I agree with the natural fats, lower carb movement. The only way I have lost weight and kept it off for years and I have tried every diet known to man. I was even a Gym Junkie. No exercise and the weight fell off me!! The Dietician with Health was useless. I feel like I finally have the key to weightloss. Keto for weightloss and then just maintain by staying off the high carb foods. Can still eat natural sugars.
Why not replace your meals with lower calorie, high protein high fibre meals? Fill up with fruit and veggies, nuts and grains and seeds and fish and chicken. You’ll get the energy you need and a calorie deficit is easier to maintain for long enough for weight loss when you are able to eat enough food daily, and food you enjoy.
Shakes are also good for shrinking your stomach if you've been overeating for too long. It's not good to just fill up even if it's healthy, that's not going to help over eating in the long run.
So true, you have to be in Calorie deficit. I meant fill up with real meals and portions you can enjoy, so you’re not starving on something because that’s just not sustainable. If shakes do that too, make them part of the plan but overall you have to be in calorie deficit. Walking does very little for calories too, it’s much easier to balance calories with your food intake. Get an app that shows you the numbers if you haven’t yet.
I'm using Fatblaster Platinum Thermoburn shakes. 8.2g carb, 0.9g sugar per serve. I get the coffee one and use it as a breakfast replacement.
I could get better results using it instead of dinner but I find after work and after the treadmill my body craves real food. I tried the shake but I end up eating after anyway because I was hungry.
