Gaining weight, need help.

I've been walking a lot at work and stand for long periods of time but gaining weight really quickly.

I want to lose 15kgs, is there something the Dr can prescribed to me at all?

That's a pretty small amount of weight to lose and the Dr probably won't prescribe anything unless you're morbidly obese. Sometimes being on your feet all day doesn't really help you lose weight because you're not getting your heart rate up, but it is exhausting so it makes you too tired to exercise and can make you want sugar or carbs for energy. I'm on my feet all day for my job and it is hard to get exercise in. I go for low impact exercise like an exercise bike and swimming in the warmer months because the last thing I want to do is walk or run after being on my feet all day!

Yea there is, it’s expensive and not good for you you don’t want to get addicted, but it helps with weight loss.and I know a bunch of friends who have been prescribed it without being obese. You’ll probably want a blood test first to actually work out why you’re gaining weight. Also keep a food journal because calories matter. You have to be in a calorie deficit. Walking won’t burn that many calories to make a huge difference, calories in consistently over time is really what matters. Get a tracking app, I find mine helpful.

Duromine works amazing, but you wont sleep at all for days.

Duromine, ozempic and other options. Ozempic has a shortage at the moment but you can go on a weight list. Speak to your dr

Doctors are no longer allowed to prescribe ozempic for weight loss they are only allowed to prescribe it to diabetics

You might be eating more than you're burning. Eat less.

Sudden unexplained weight gain, i.e. If you're gaining weight in spite of an active lifestyle and truly not consuming too much energy should be investigated by your doctor. This could be indicative of a health issue needing treatment. You may also be able to get a referral to a dietitian for assistance. Weight loss drugs are available and some people find them immensely helpful in the short term, but long term behavioural change and sustainable strategies are the best way to lose the weight and keep it off

How old are you? I am mid 40s and have found keeping weight off so hard, and am so hungry. I was classed as obese with the bmi calculator. Have been taking duromine for the last 2 weeks and not feeling hungry is amazing. I haven't had the side effects that some describe, i sleep fine, and don't feel like i'm racing. It allows you to be deliberate with your food, and keep up with life , i am only taking it for 8 weeks (it's for short term use only) hoping it's enough to support my exercise and diet that i am working in with the dr kick. FYI I had all the blood tests, all normal, and was in a calorie deficit and was exercising, but was starving and stuggling. This is working for me
