Homestead mums

Hello, I’m looking at starting my own little homestead and doing plants etc to eat. What is the best fruit and veggies to grow all year round ? Or grown in general ? Any other suggestion and advice would help! I have a massive garden. Also doing chicken for eggs what else am missing ? Also what are You doing to cut down on waste ? Thanks

This will depend on where you live. What grows well in one area year round won’t work in another.
You will have seasons though for anything you grow.
It’s worth investing in a gardening book and finding some quality websites. You will save yourself money, time and heartache.
I used to be subscribed to a website that used to tell me what crops to plant when based on where I live, I’ll see if I can find it.

You may want to think about fruit trees, we currently have pears, lemon, and stone fruit trees in our suburban back yard. You need to check If a tree needs cross pollinating (as it will need a second tree) to produce fruit.
